Central Sterile Processing Technician Course

​

Central Sterile Supply is an emerging occupation where technician’s process, maintain, and dispense materials and equipment required by medical personnel. These technicians provide support to all patient care services in the health care facility.

​

Upon completion of the Central Sterile Processing Technician program, students are prepared for the national certification exam:

• Certified Registered Central Service Technician Exam (CRCST)

Prerequisites
 

  • At least 18 years of age

  • High school diploma or G.E.D

  • Hand-to-eye Coordination

  • Finger agility

  • Normal or corrected Vision

  • Normal or corrected Hearing

  • No prior criminal offenses

  • Certification, state licensing agencies and employers usually perform background checks on central sterile processing candidates

Course Duration
 

  • Online Program: This is a self-paced course with a completion time limit of 6 months.

Externship Program​

 

The externship serves as working experience, as well as a reference for future employment. For an additional fee of $450, students receive hands-on-training by completing a 120 clock-hour externship at a local hospital site through MK Education.

​

MK Education has established relationships with sites (clinics and hospitals) nationwide to provide potential opportunities to complete this externship for all students.
