PREREQUISITES

 

Prerequisites for this course are vital to ensure success in this program. Candidates interested in this program must meet the following prerequisites:

 

• High school diploma or G.E.D.

• Proficiency in English (reading, writing & speaking skills)

• At least 18 years of age, although exceptions have been made on an individual basis

• Hand-to-eye coordination and finger agility

• Suitable vision, normal or corrected

• Immunizations & background check (may be required by some externship locations)

• No prior criminal offenses (employers often perform background checks on applicants)

 

Recommended Prerequisites:

• Familiarity with anatomy and physiology

• Knowledge of medical terminology

• Understanding of pharmacology in cardiac drugs
