PREREQUISITES

 

Prerequisites for this course are vital to ensure success in this program. Candidates interested in this program must meet the following prerequisites:

 

• High school diploma or G.E.D 

• Proficiency in English (reading, writing & speaking skills)

• Adequate knowledge of 9th/10th grade Algebra

• At least 18 years of age, although exceptions have been made on an individual basis

• Hand-to-eye coordination and finger agility

• Suitable vision, normal or corrected

• Immunizations & background check

  •  (May be required by clinical observation sites and employers)

• No prior criminal offenses 

 

Recommended Prerequisites

• Medical terminology

• Biology coursework with emphasis on cell structure

• CPR training

• Previous healthcare experience
