PREREQUISITES

 

Prerequisites for this course are vital to ensure success in this program. Candidates interested in this program must meet the following prerequisites

 

• High school diploma or G.E.D.

• Proficiency in English (reading, writing & speaking skills)

• Adequate knowledge of 9th/10th grade Algebra

• At least 18 years of age, although exceptions have been made on an individual basis

• Hand-to-eye coordination and finger agility

• Suitable vision, normal or corrected

• Immunizations & Background check

  • May be required by some externship locations

• No prior criminal offenses

  • Certification, state licensing agencies and employers usually perform background checks on pharmacy technician candidates.
