MK Education not only focuses on providing you with the best healthcare training in your community, but we also help prepare you with essential career training and on-the-job advice. The first step to any career in any industry is a strong resume and at times, a cover letter. In this post, I will provide you with some tips and a basic template for a cover letter that you can tailor to any industry or position. Enjoy!
Tips:
Don't be afraid to show enthusiasim! For example, write statements such as "I'm excited to learn about"....and "I am ecstatic that I can put my knowledge to use..."
Always end with your letter by requesting an interview. A call to action is key!
Stay away from “duh” things such as: “I’m a hard worker,” “I’m responsible,”
I’m always on time” and other cliche cover letter statements.
If you are under-qualified for a position, show them that you are a fast learner.
If you are qualified for a position, companies don’t need you to learn—simply contribute. In that case, you should mention how you can complement and contribute to the team and the potential you see.
Being selfless is overrated! The most trustworthy people tend to be people with clear self-interests because you know what they want.
