Since its inception nearly 15 years ago, MK Education has helped over 3,000 graduates of our Pharmacy Technician program find rewarding careers in the fastest growing industry in the U.S.

This past Friday evening, we continued our tradition of awarding a scholarship to a student who demonstrates exemplary communication skills and shares our passion both of enhancing meaningful education and improving pharmacies and patient care.

In his submission, Thomas Dorne shows us his commitment to these values. He states that his passion for teaching derives from "when I am able to teach somebody a concept, and see the look on their face when they understand a difficult topic." That is a feeling our founders understand all too well. His progressive and forward thinking thought process shows that he really understands the future and importance of Pharmacy education.

We don't only want our students to find a job - we want them to find success. Whether our course was taken for a lifelong career or a stepping stone.

Our original company, MRxI Corporation, was founded by two Midwestern alumna - Doctors Mayur and Priti Shah, with a goal of improving patient care in pharmacies by sending better prepared pharmacy technicians into the field. More states are aligning with this concept and requiring certification for pharmacy technicians and MK Education has been ahead of the curve. We partner with academic institutions and major retail pharmacy companies throughout the country and customize training modules to meet the needs of that institution and national pharmacy guidelines.

This year's awardee also shares this forward thinking mentality and like us, is always aiming to improve the quality of patient care. We are excited to have awarded the 2015 MK Education Pharmacy Student Scholarship to Thomas Dorne, a fourth year Pharmacy student who will be graduating Summa Cum Laude in May. He has served as both a CCP Student Council Class Officer and as a Rho Chi Tutor. We are confident that he will be an excellent addition to the future of healthcare in America.
